Two Bengals sharing an ordinary room in the Leopard Moon home

How we care for our cats

Ethical Breeding

For us, responsible breeding is simple: take excellent care of the cats, make thoughtful choices, and stand behind every kitten for life.

Our north star

Family first.

All Leopard Moon cats live underfoot as house pets.

They are not breeding inventory.

They are not livestock.

They are members of the family who happen to be part of our breeding program.

What we do

The promises behind every Leopard Moon kitten.

These are the everyday practices that shape our program and help our kittens begin life feeling safe, healthy, and loved.

01

Raised in our home

Our kittens are born and raised inside our home. They grow up around people, household sounds, playtime, affection, and the normal rhythm of family life.

02

Health testing

Our breeding cats are genetically tested, HCM screened, and tested for PKDef and PRA-b.

03

Thoughtful pairings

We choose pairings with health, temperament, structure, color, and the future of our program in mind.

04

The right family

We ask questions because we want every kitten to go to a home that understands Bengals and is ready for a lifelong commitment.

05

Spayed or neutered

Pet kittens arrive in their new homes already spayed or neutered. We will never knowingly add to feline overpopulation.

06

Home at about 14 weeks

Kittens stay with their mother and littermates until they are approximately 14 weeks old and ready for the transition.

07

Four unique bloodlines

Our program brings together four unique bloodlines. All of our cats carry glitter coat genes, and our lines can produce brown, silver, and snow Bengals.

08

A home for life

If a Leopard Moon Bengal can no longer stay with its family, we must be contacted. Our cats will always have a safe place with us.

Lifetime responsibility

They have a home here for life.

If a Leopard Moon Bengal cannot remain in its home for any reason, the owner must contact us and the cat is to be returned to Leopard Moon Bengals according to the purchase contract. We do not want our cats abandoned, passed around, surrendered without our knowledge, or left without somewhere safe to go.
